The scientific division of Kaneka in Japan, which is the ONLY manufacturer of Coenzyme Q10 in the world in the form of UBICHINOL (or Ubiquinol), reports as follows:

Some reports indicate that carrageenan (sometimes described on many supplement labels as E407) is an additive suspected of being linked to cancer formation. These reports are the result of studies conducted only on rodents that were given SUPERIOR amounts of carrageenan. Moreover, no toxicity was found in "higher" animals such as monkeys. For this reason, not even a maximum permissible daily intake has been determined.

Therefore, the International Expert Committee on Food Additives concludes that carrageenan contained in the amounts that are used in dietary supplements is ABSOLUTELY SAFE FOR HUMANS.

Note again that the Japanese company Kaneka is the ONLY supplier of ubiquinol in the world, so every company selling this coenzyme is supplied from the same source. However, not every distribution company fully discloses the composition of the ubiquinol it sells. This is a matter of fairness to the customer.
